Frances Chen is an MBA student in OSU graduating in June 2014. She came to the US after she graduated from high school in China. She spent four years in Eastern Oregon University for her accounting undergraduate degree. She was actively involved in the international students association and community service at Eastern Oregon University and also helped EOU admission’s office with student recruitment projects. She is also a piano performer that performed for many special occasions at Eastern Oregon University.
After graduating from Eastern Oregon University, she got an internship with Aflac as a licensed insurance agent and received the Aflac “Faster Start” award. Meanwhile, she worked for New Directions NW, a nonprofit organization in Baker City, Oregon, as asummer accounting intern. The unique international background, sales, marketing and accounting working experience have prepared her well for this internship. Her dedication for work and fresh business perspective fits the venture accelerator program well. Her interest is in market research and she hopes to generate more information and knowledge from this internship. She would like to pursue a position in an international company before she starts her own business in the near future.
She loves travelling and exploring the world. She has passion for life. She keeps looking for challenges and hopes to overcome each of them along the way. She is very enthusiastic about this internship position and expects to make contributions and gain experience for her future business perspective and also her life journey.
