Jacob is an undergraduate student at Oregon State University pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Economics. He became interested in the Accelerator through his passion for problem solving, business development, and entrepreneurship. Jacob enjoys conducting market research and investigating new applications for OSU inventions. The venture internship program has allowed him to collaborate with a network of innovators within the University and Accelerator to solve real world problems. He hopes to continue to utilize skills acquired through coursework and in the professional workplace to pursue his own business ventures after graduation.

Jacob was born and raised on the big island of Hawaii and moved to Oregon before attending Oregon State University. He has recently gained a broadened world perspective through traveling and participating in a Turkish university exchange program. Jacob has participated in university research since freshman year and is actively involved in the OSU community and greek life. He is a participant in the Austin Entrepreneurship Program, volunteers for local startup events, and desires to become a leader in the startup community. Jacob recognizes the need for developing entrepreneurs and business leaders to apply new technology and ideas to aid a society facing global environmental and social problems. This drives him to encourage and inspire others to become leaders in their community and pursue STEM careers and entrepreneurship.

Work experience includes material science, process engineering, market research, and project management. Other interests include physics, computer science, economics, psychology, marketing, business development, and leadership. Outside of the workplace Jacob enjoys traveling, fishing, mountaineering, snowboarding, and skateboarding.
