Mr. Williams was an honored member of the Board of Advisors, serving from the beginning of the program until his passing in October 2014. His contributions the the Advantage Accelerator will be remembered with much gratitude.
Mr. Williams was a partner with Asset Solution Partners LLC holding company and is president of CTK Capital Corporation, both based in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Williams was a co-founder of Brim, Inc., the first company in the nation to specialize in contracting to manage hospitals. Starting with the hospital in Coos Bay in 1970, the company grew to own and operate 58 hospitals until its merger with Providence Healthcare, Inc. in 1997. In addition to the hospitals, the company created 20 new healthcare-related subsidiaries which included Oregon’s first two outpatient surgery centers, a development company that built over 100 retirement communities, medical offices and hospitals, a Japan-based company that developed senior living facilities, and a company that owned and operated 35 retirement centers. In 1997, after the sale of Brim, Inc., Mr. Williams and his associates partnered with the Pritzker family of Chicago (owners of Hyatt Hotels) to form Encore Senior Living, a national assisted living company. Mr. Williams retired in January 2002 and served as the chairman of Encore’s board until selling his interest in 2006.
Mr. Williams received the Distinguished Business Professionals Award from the College of Business in 2003 and was a Centennial Celebration Honoree in 2008.
Mr. Williams earned his B.S. in industrial engineering from Oregon State University in 1966 and his M.B.A. in 1967.
Mr. Williams’ wife, Chris, graduated from OSU in 1966 with a B.S. in elementary education. Mr. Williams leaves behind three children; Kyla Fiske, OSU HHP ’93, Chell Williams, OSU CoE ’96, and Toff Williams, OSU CoB ’02.
