A recent addition to the OCCD team, Joe works closely with Oregon State University researchers to identify, protect, and commercialize life science technologies. He also assists faculty with various types of research related agreements, including material transfer and confidentiality agreements. Joe is a registered patent agent with over 5 years of experience drafting and prosecuting life science patent applications. He has negotiated license agreements and prosecuted patents for technologies form a wide variety of life science specialties including food science, molecular biology, animal cloning, antimicrobials, and diagnostics.
Prior to joining OCCD, Joe worked as an Intellectual Property Manager at Utah State University’s Office of Technology Commercialization and Development. He obtained his PhD in Biology from the University of Oregon, where he studied cell fate differentiation related to neurogenic placodes and development of neural sensory cells.
