Steve retired from Network Appliance (NetApp) in 2011, where he had served as executive vice president and chief financial officer since joining the company in 2002.  

He was responsible for the company’s finance, legal, workplace resources, and investor relations functions.  Prior to that, he served as chief financial officer for Gemplus International in Luxembourg and for Silicon Graphics.  Mr. Gomo began his career with Hewlett-Packard, where he held various positions in finance, financial management, manufacturing and general management over the course of twenty-four years.  NetApp is a leading vendor of network-attached storage (NAS) systems designed for midsized to large enterprises; its filers can also be deployed in Fibre Channel and IP-based storage area network (SAN) configurations.  NetApp’s “NearStore” line of disk-based devices is designed for backup and archiving.  It also provides operating system, data management, and content delivery software.  The company sells directly and through channel partners to organizations in the communications, energy, financial services, government, health care, media, manufacturing, and technology sectors.
