Wes is a sophomore studying Mechanical engineering with a minor in business and entrepreneurship through the Oregon State Honors college. He is very open to the different career paths ahead of him, and has taken on a wide range of work and volunteer experience to reflect it. For years, he has assisted in his family business as a crew member for a land clearing contractor, gaining experience in customer service and heavy equipment operation. This past summer, he worked as a research assistant in the Combustion, Ignition, Radiation, and Energy laboratory. While there, he worked on a project to analyze turbulent flame speed of jet fuels during combustion.

In his free time, Wes has also become very involved in his community through volunteer work. He tutors twice a week at Linus Pauling middle school and also helps run the destination imagination project at Lincoln Elementary school. Each term, Wes also actively volunteers at the blood drive as well as at the Corvallis Boys and Girls Club. Through these volunteering opportunities, he has made sure to not lose touch with his real passion: working with people.

Wes moved from his home town of Omaha, Nebraska to Lake Oswego, Oregon 7 years ago. He is a lover of sports, and played football and baseball in high school. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano, going on hikes to explore Oregon, and hanging out with his brothers in his fraternity. He is very excited to see what other opportunities life will bring, and hopes that the accelerator could play a key role in bringing about new ways to explore his career path.
